Coaching

Our coaches and coxes at Richmond Rowing Club are volunteers. They are supported in the continuing development of their coaching skills through formal accreditation, in house workshops and mentoring. Specialist paid coaches are also utilised on occasion. We ask members to respect the time and dedication of their coaches, by turning up on time, following instructions and letting your coach know your availability in advance.
Coaches work as a team to help all squad members set and achieve their goals each season through a suitable training program. The program includes on and off water activities. Take a look at the coaching blog to find out more details.

Richmond holds intensive weekend training ‘camps’ twice a year. These are a great way to improve skills quickly and are generally held in Spring, prior to ‘head’ (long distance) racing season and in Summer, prior to ‘sprint’ racing season.
